Worship Coordinator - New Bern

 Purpose:

The WSP Coordinator for the New Bern Campus of Port City Community Church is given the task of overseeing & implementing the Programming & Production elements set in place by the Creative Team for the adult worship service environment at the New Bern campus. This individual directly reports to the Campus Pastor of New Bern for logistics and vision. This individual will be responsible for leading our worship and production teams in executing Sunday service gatherings and any additional campus events as needed. In addition, they are resourced by the Pastor of Worship Arts for creative development and service programming direction.

Position Specifications:

  • Must be a believer of Jesus Christ and an active participant of Port City Community Church.

  • Must demonstrate an acceptable balance of confidence and humility, and must be willing to proactively address issues in accordance with scripture and in alignment with the doctrinal beliefs of Port City Community Church.

  • Must be a team-oriented person.

  • Must have a working knowledge of Production gear (audio, lighting & especially video).

  • Must have musical background and experience leading a multi-member band.

  • Must be passionate about music and engaging musical environments.

  • Must have a good sense of evaluation & critique and the ability to challenge contributors in a healthy way.

  • Must be able to organize and evaluate systems and schedules of people.

  • Must be able to work well under pressure and to multi-task on several projects at once.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the church in worship by coordinating the main adult service programming, stewarding an engaging music environment, and by leading the worship volunteer team.

  • Oversee the recruitment, audition & assimilation of new musicians and worship leaders.

  • Discovering & implementing processes & solutions for creating an appealing & engaging environment.

  • Point person for all technical production decisions and execution.

  • Recruiting, leading & training volunteers to run the technical environments.

  • Providing quality control & environmental oversight to the Treasure Island environment production equipment.

  • Troubleshooting gear issues and general maintenance and repair on systems and gear.

  • Manage scheduling of New Bern Worship Team, music set lists and Ableton sets for each Sunday and special event services.

  • Day to day responsibilities including staff meetings, planning meetings, gear maintenance, volunteer scheduling, service preparation, etc. and other duties as assigned.

General Work Schedule

  • Full time (40 hours, excluding lunch) salaried. General schedule of Sunday through Thursday.

    Note: All full time jobs are to be scheduled at 40 hours unless otherwise noted in the job description. Part time hours are to be scheduled to the amount of hours that have been budgeted for the position.
