We have some amazing opportunities to serve within our church on Sundays and throughout the week! Explore all of our ministries below!
GROW ZONE
The mission of Grow Zone is to reach kids and come alongside families to help them walk with God. Whether we’re rocking tiny babies, coloring with two-year-olds, or singing worship songs with four-year-olds, everything we do in Grow Zone reflects these four basic truths: God made me, God loves me, Jesus is my friend forever, and the Bible is God’s story and everything in it is true.
TREASURE ISLAND
Treasure Island is Port City Community Church’s Sunday experience for elementary-aged children and its mission is to reach kids and come alongside families to help them walk with God. Through fun activities, authentic worship, a wild and crazy stage production, and a focus on building lasting relationships we will go to any length to teach our children what it means to develop a growing relationship with Jesus.
TSUNAMI
Tsunami exists to reach middle school students and help them walk with God. We do that through a variety of ways at our various campuses but each is focused on Jesus-centered, relationally driven small group ministry. We don’t just believe that middle school students are the future of the church, we believe they are the church now! As such, we want to help students become vitally connected to Jesus and His church.
RIPPLE EFFECT
The mission of Ripple Effect is to reach high school students and help them walk with God. We do that by creating an outward facing community of students that gather weekly and are led by trusted adult volunteers. It is an environment that challenges students to grow in their walk with Jesus and be an active representation of Him everywhere they go. Through Jesus-centered, relationally driven small groups we work to give high school students a faith that will stick through whatever comes next.
OVERFLOW
Overflow’s aim is to reach college students and young adults and help them walk with God. Overflow gathers every Tuesday night to encourage 18-25-year-olds in their next steps in their walks with God. But Overflow is much more than a weekly gathering. There are weekly opportunities for 18-25-year-olds to connect into smaller communities, serve the campus of UNCW and participate in the life of our church. There are spaces for adults to serve in the Overflow ministry through group leadership, mentorship, and care!
WELCOME
The Welcome Team has the opportunity to serve our church with a heart of hospitality. Our team consists of Greeters, Ushers, Cafe, and Parking Team Volunteers who are intentional with welcoming each person into the building from the parking lot to their seat. On the Welcome Team we say that we serve more than just our role, we serve God, our church, our community, and each other!
PRODUCTION
The mission of Production is to create gatherings that inspire engagement in worship, teaching, and community. The Production Team is tasked with serving Port City Community Church and its various ministries through audio, video, lighting, and stage. By leveraging production elements in-room and online, our production team has the unique opportunity to carry the hope and love of Jesus to every corner of our culture.
CARE
The heart of Care is to walk with people through whatever they’re facing. We believe there is power in holding space for one another because we know that God shows up in that space to bring comfort, healing and freedom in the midst of our circumstances. Through volunteers serving as 1-to-1 Care Advocates, Marriage Advocates, Care Group Leaders, Premarital Mentors, and on our Prayer Team we get to walk with people to find hope, find help and find healing in Jesus.
GROUPS
We believe groups are a welcoming place to build community around the person of Jesus! We have several different kinds of groups including ongoing Home Groups and Connect Groups, as well as short-term Study Groups. Group Leaders are essential to make all of these happen! We provide a 4-week training and support along the way, as you create space for people to have community.
