Salary Range: $43,650-$47,679 depending on experience. Please note, as part of our compensation package, Port City pays the health insurance premium for all employees and their families.
PURPOSE
The Worship Leader serves Port City Community Church by pastoring the adults of the Wilmington Campus to live lives of worship and engage in the gatherings of Port City Community Church. This role leads the way by inviting people into worship during church gatherings, shepherding them to worship in their everyday, ordinary lives, and teaching what worship truly is. The Worship Lead is to be a trusted voice in our church and is directly responsible for leading the Sunday and Overflow worship spaces to reach people and help them walk with God, so that our church can experience life with God together for the world!

Must demonstrate an acceptable balance of confidence and humility, and must be willing to proactively address issues in accordance with scripture and in alignment with the Port City Community Church statement of faith.
Must have flexibility in weekly schedule as some nights will be required.
Most possess a willingness to constantly ask for and receive feedback from direct report and ministry leaders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Raise up disciples of Jesus and equip them to become leaders in Port City Community Church.
Pastor the adults and young adults of the Wilmington Campus to live lives of worship and engage in awe-inspired worship during church gatherings.

Worship Leading | Sunday and Overflow
Invite the adults of the Wilmington Campus to live lives of worship and to engage deeply in our church's gatherings!
Craft worship sets and moments of worship value spiritual formation and passionate worship.
Consistently lead worship from stage and serve as a trusted pastoral voice in our church.
Attend weekly programming meetings (Monday and Wednesday at 1 pm) to provide and further collaborate on worship direction and establish gathering programming direction.
Work closely with the Gathering Programming Director to program Sunday and Overflow gatherings.
Music Directing | Sunday and Overflow
Create excellent resources that empower the worship team on Sunday morning and Overflow gatherings to lead confidently and excellently.
Make weekly Ableton show files that lead the lead and equip the worship team.
Craft engaging worship sets and ensure that Planning Center is up to date with all necessary information for the success of the team.
Manage Sunday and Overflow check-request system.
Staff Meeting Worship
Work with the Worship Pastor of Discipleship, Gathering Programming Director and Campus leadership to lead the staff in worship at monthly all staff meetings.
Worship Leader Development
Serve as a coach and pace-setting leader for all other worship leaders by providing feedback, empowering leaders to use their voice to invite people into worship, and lead moments that help people engage in passionate, formative worship.
Areas of Collaboration:
Nights of Worship
In collaboration with the Wilmington Worship Staff team, plan and execute Wilmington Nights of Worship, three times a year, to provide a place for contemplative, formative, and passionate worship.
Serve as a coordinator for gathering planning alongside the Gathering Programming Director and leadership staff to ensure these gatherings engage the church in worship!
Worship Team Development and Onboarding
Serve as a recruitment and onboarding leader to help people join the worship team in a way that values them as people and protects the integrity of the team and worship leader expectations.
Serve as a coach for new and tenured members of the worship team to help them grow in character and competency.
Creative Expression
Collaborate with the worship team to write, produce and release orgingial music that is written out of the DNA of our church and helps lead our church to live lives of worship.
Worship Leading in Alternative Wilmington Ministry Environments
Lead worship in Student Ministry Environments, Funerals and other gatherings as needs arise.
Stay up to date with worship trends and be aware of what is happening throughout culture in order to meet people where they are.
Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions, bringing fresh ideas for worship leadership.
Participate actively in all Worship Team Staff Meetings.
Participate actively in Akedah Worship School.

General Work Schedule:
Full-Time Hourly 40 Hours
Sunday: 5:30 AM – 1:30 PM (8 hours)
Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8 hours)
Tuesday: 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM (9 hours)
Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (8 hours)
Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (8 hours)
Friday: OFF
Saturday: OFF
*All Port City Staff (regardless of role, position, or typical work schedule) are required to work Easter Weekend and Christmas Eve.
