J’Leeon

J’Leeon loves staying active. Whether he’s playing football or basketball, you can usually find him on the move. When it’s time to relax, he enjoys watching YouTube and eating his favorite meal, mom and dad’s pot roast with rice!

It should come as no surprise that at school, recess is the highlight of his day. J’Leeon also shared that his CIS Student Support Specialist, Mrs. Caroline Walker, is someone who makes him feel encouraged at school.

Through CIS, J’Leeon has found meaningful ways to grow. He says his favorite parts of CIS are celebrating good days with a game of H.O.R.S.E. 🏀 with Mrs. Walker, having a place to be heard, and getting breaks when he needs them. According to J’Leeon, Mrs. Walker has helped him learned how to ignore distractions and stay focused no matter what his peers are up to.

When asked to describe CIS in one word, J’Leeon chose “helpful,” because, as he put it, “She helps me out when I have problems.”

Looking ahead, J’Leeon dreams of becoming a professional football or basketball player, and if he could change one thing in the world, he’d make it possible for people to live on another planet.

“I chose to spotlight J’Leeon because he’s worked hard on meeting his goals to manage his emotions and stay on task this school year. Even when he has setbacks or hard days, he comes to school every day with a positive attitude and radiant energy. I always look forward to ending my day at Blair hearing him say, ‘Have an amazing rest of your day!’ on his way out the door. He’s a really loving and empathetic kid,” said CIS Student Support Specialist Ms. Caroline Walker.

🏀Slam dunk! We're so proud of you, J'Leeon! ✨
