Taylor
Taylor enjoys hanging out with friends and family, cheerleading, boating, and going to the beach in her spare time. This fall, she plans to attend the University of Alabama! In the future, Taylor says she sees herself having a career and starting a family.
Taylor explains many goals that felt far away when she started high school were accomplished with the support of her CIS Student Support Specialist, Holly Scacca.
“[My CIS staff] were a light in not only my life but others. They also encouraged me to do the best I could no matter how difficult things may have been,” said Taylor. “Ms. Scacca gave me encouragement and advice. Every problem was solved; every question was answered. There was never judgement or negative feelings towards me and I felt safe and free to express myself.”
“Taylor is a military student and endured multiple deployments of her dad during her high school career,” said CIS Student Support Specialist Holly Scacca. “Early in her high school career she often doubted herself saying things like “I am never going to make Varsity cheer,” “I could never get the GPA to get into the college I want.” Seeing her senior year be the resilient, well-rounded, steady, and hard-working individual she is despite all of the pain and family stress is so incredible. Her biggest troubles now have been “Do I cheer at Alabama or do Elite cheer?’ ‘Should I take my scholarship money or the 14 college credits I’ve earned?’ and ‘I don’t know which dream school of mine to choose from.’ She is truly an anomaly. I am SO proud of her and the woman she has become.”
You did it, Taylor!!! Congratulations!!! 🎓
